O Canada! Bloomberg hosted the Canadian Government for the Canada AI Summit, which opened with an evening panel discussion moderated by Rachana. Some spirited and relevant takeaways from the session included:
– The “Drake Effect”: Canada on the world stage as a draw for young AI and tech talent – more growth in Toronto last year than NYC and Silicon Valley combined
– Geopolitics and immigration: Canadian visas for startups can be obtained in as few as 10 days
– Canada is the first country to launch a national AI strategy
– Added insights on machines, ethics, investment strategies, and the role of government in policy, education for the future of work
